Uber, the California-based ride-hailing platform, will allow its employees to continue working from home through September 13, TechCrunch reported, citing the company.

“In considering the extension, we took into account the latest scientific data and experts’ views; the fact that different countries are at different stages of recovery; and the start of the school year,” Uber Chief People Officer Nikki Krishnamurthy wrote to employees in an e-mail, according to TechCrunch.

Uber management also is encouraging employees to get vaccinated when it’s possible to do so, the e-mail said.

In August 2020, Uber notified employees that they should expect to work from home through June 2021, according to the Tech Crunch report.

The company will probably offer workers a hybrid work-office model once the pandemic ends, Krishnamurthy was cited as saying in the e-mail.
