Managing remote workforces is a critical challenge for top-performing chief executive officers worldwide, according to an IBM study.
The survey showed half of the CEOs — those in the upper 20 percent for revenue growth — surveyed mentioned managing remote workers as a challenge, compared with a quarter of their underperforming peers.
The top-performing CEOs are prioritizing talent, technology and partnerships, with 77 percent saying that they must support employee well-being even to the detriment of profitability — a 97 percent higher rate than their underperforming peers.
The study polled 3,000 CEOs in 26 industries and 50 countries.
