Ford Motor Company is delaying its return-to-office plans until at least January because of surging Covid-19 cases, The Detroit News reported.

The move applies to employees who are not dependent on in-person work in North and South America along with dozens of other countries, the news site wrote. The carmaker will “explore opportunities for team members to return on-site and experience the hybrid model,” the daily said.

Once the pandemic ends, salaried workers will move to a hybrid model where employees and managers will determine how, when, and where work is accomplished, Ford said in March.
