The American biopharmaceutical company Amgen told its workforce that a remote workstyle will be implemented for the foreseeable future, affecting many of its 24,000 employees globally, the weekly newspaper MoorPark Acorn reported.

Eighty percent of employees desire to continue working from home at least partially, an internal survey found, according to the news publication. The company said it does not plan to reduce its real estate footprint.

“Though some staff may come to campus less frequently, Amgen will remain engaged and involved in the communities in which we live and work despite,” an Amgen spokesman told the Acorn.

“Our intent is to create a new, more flexible work environment that intentionally combines the benefits of remote and in-person working,” Acorn cited the company as saying.
